Fall

The very first glimpse of fall. A soft fog hovered this morning and a cool breeze lasted the rest of the day.

So many firsts to look forward to: carnivals, halloween dress up, the pumpkin patch...and books!

Norah and I cuddled up on the couch and looked through her first copy of Scholastic magazine, both just as eager to pick new prizes. "Ooo" to the Olivia collection and "Aaaah" to the Fancy Nancys. We settled on Clifford the Big Red Dog, Anansi the Spider, and Guess How Much I Love You?

Then, Avery, Norah and I all buried ourselves in blankets and pillows in their room and sifted through the bookshelf. We read The Little Engine that Could, Where the Wild Things Are, Mama Do You Love Me?, and Wild Child; all while dinner baked in the oven.
