Happy New Year

There's so much to be grateful for in 2010. And now, we are so excited for this new year.

We celebrated the end of the year and beginning of the next with family, welcoming home Erin and James from all their newlywed travels.

The girls and I decorated the living room with pretty gold and silver streamers. They hung them from chairs, the chest, the easel, and our table. We had an early bird version of the festivities where we played the ball dropping on a Tivo recording from 2010. We counted down (at around 7pm) and then toasted each other with cider and apple juice. We blew noise makers and wore festive party hats.

The girls didn't give us any fuss as they headed for bed. They had partied hard.

Then, we had yet another celebratory Fondue Friday with our favorite fondue friends: Erin and James. We had spinach artichoke dip (thanks James), plenty of champagne and cider (for me), delicious bubbly broth and dip, and homemade carrot cake (courtesy of Mrs. Smith.)

We passed the time until the New Year's countdown rocking out to Rock Band. You haven't lived until you've heard Lucas belt out "Say it Ain't So." I can only hope that 2011 ends the way it started: full of love and joy and shared with friends and family.

Happy New Year!
