Welcome, Sister

Yesterday, I showed Norah and Avery this picture of me as a kid holding my baby sister, Katie, shortly after she came home from the hospital.

I told Avery, "I'm 3 in the picture, just like you're 3 now and you are going to hold your new baby sister."

Avery said, "I want to sit on your lap and look at this picture for a long time because I love it."

And Norah said, "In this picture you look like you could be my friend. Wouldn't it be cool if we were born at the same time and we were friends?"

I said, "Almost as cool as being mother and daughter." And she replied, "Yeah -being mom and daughter is WAY better."
