Avery Had a Great Fall

Isn't she so sweet?  Poor girl.
Little Avery tumbled while trying to climb on the handle bars of her little sister's trike.  She got a pretty big gash on her forehead- one that we thought probably needed stitches.  So, Lucas took her off to urgent care.

They had to hold her down to put the glue and bandages on her wounds (Avery is quite the fighter), but she left pretty happy.   After all, she had a huge war wound to show off, a cool bracelet to wear with her name and patient information to wear as her badge of honor, a Beanie baby bear they gave her, and she even got a late night popsicle in the urgent care waiting room!

The next day,  when Norah (who had been worried about her sister the night before) learned about all the "fun" that Avery had at urgent care, she exclaimed, "no fair, why didn't I get to go!"

Ah, to see the world through the eyes of a child.  If only a beanie baby and a popsicle were all it would take to make me feel better after giving birth to our little dude in a few months!

    1. Of course, of course ;) It's just funny to see how quickly little ones turn a difficult experience into an adventure full of fun. The other fun thing about kids is that their little bodies heal quite quickly. You can barely tell Avery was hurt now.

  4. I have been looking through your blog this morning. It's amazing that Avery and Pearson share the same birthday because every post I read about her sounds just like you could be writing about him. They are a lot alike. I laughed at this one because when he was little we took him to dr to get stitches in his head. While they held him down he looked at the dr and said "STUPID". That was the worst word he knew.
